Alex Wilson, son of well-known equestrian professionals, Scott Wilson and Christi Edelbrock was born and raised in Southern California. He began riding before he could walk at his family’s Scott Wilson Stables (SWS) under the tutelage of his parents, which even garnered him the coveted prize of the Lead Line Winner at The Devon Horse Show at the mere age of two years old. A successful junior career brought Alex many accolades, among them being Team Gold at NAJRYC Championships in 2003 as well as qualifying and showing at Indoors multiple years.
From his success as a junior rider, Alex went on to declare his status as a Professional Equestrian. He worked under Cara Anthony as an assistant for a year before taking on a management opportunity in 2009 with John French at his large-scale operation, Waldenbrook Farm. Alex and John’s partnership brought numerous successes over the course of the next five years. A few of these highlights include:
Later in 2013 brought Alex to partner and train with the show jumping talent Joie Gatlin for the next few years before taking over his family’s show stables completely in late 2015 . Along the way, Alex has also been able to learn from other top professionals including: Don Stewart, Hope Glynn, Hillary Ridland, and Jeff and Rachel Fields. Additionally, Alex has garnered many trusted European contacts in order to import some of the finest young hunters and jumpers. At SWS Training and Sales, Alex has culminated his vast knowledge sourced from every aspect of the horse industry to provide one of the most detailed and complete programs that one has to offer. Alex’s attention to detail and accompanying experienced staff members allows for customers to take pride in knowing that their equine has the best care, training, and showing program there is to offer. |
Kaitlin is an up-and-coming professional. Kaitlin has gained experience with hunters and jumpers on the East Coast from trainers including Tim Goguen, Shane Sweetnam, Rachel Kennedy, and Debbie Stephens. After graduating from American University in 2013, Kaitlin learned how to develop young horses at Spy Coast Farm, as well as taught and trained top show and sale horses under Leslie Emerson at Marigot Bay Farm before moving to California in 2016.

Jaime is the head groom at SWS. He is responsible for making sure all the horses look their best, and are show ring ready. He has been a loyal team member since 2009. We are incredibly lucky to have Jaime, as we feel it is incredibly important to have consistent staff that know the horses and routine as best as possible.
